Frederick William Foy (March 27, 1921 – December 22, 2010) was an American radio and television announcer and actor. He is best known for his narration of The Lone Ranger. Radio historian Jim Harmon described Foy as "the announcer, perhaps the greatest announcer-narrator in the history of radio drama."

The creators of the character were George Trendle (manager of WXYZ radio station) and writer Fran Striker.

We must emphasize thet FRED FOY was the announcer-narrator for the series during the last decade of the run with the final broadcasts in 1956. Brace Beemer was the voice of the Lone Ranger character. The first of 2,956 radio episodes of The Lone Ranger premiered on WXYZ, a radio station serving Detroit, Michigan, on January 31, 1933.
